How much did Premier League clubs spend on transfers during the January window? We crunch the numbers...
Premier League spending plummeted to £140m, down 70 per cent from last season's total of £465m - including Chelsea (£57.6m), Bournemouth (£31m), Newcastle (£21m), Wolves (£18m), Manchester City (£7m), Cardiff (£3m) and Huddersfield (£2m)
Player sales also crashed 74 per cent, from £373m last year to £99m this term, with Manchester City collecting a league-topping £33.3m, followed by Liverpool (£19m), Wolves (£16.5m) Burnley (£10m), Leicester (£9m), Tottenham (£9m) and Brighton (£2m).
Loan deals dominated the window, headlined by Chelsea prising Gonzalo Higuain from AC Milan - with an option to sign him on a permanent basis from Juventus - and Arsenal drafting Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez on a similar deal.
But the Blues also splashed the most cash, shelling out £57.6m on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic - loaning the USA international back to the Bundesliga club for the remainder of this season.
Bournemouth were the next biggest spenders with £31m on permanent recruits, landing Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke for £19m and Brentford defender Chris Mepham for £12m.
Newcastle smashed their 14-year transfer record of £16m for Michael Owen in 2005 and ended a three-year January spending freeze by signing Atlanta United forward Miguel Almiron for £21m on Deadline Day.
High-flying Wolves secured the services of full-back Jonny with a permanent deal, agreeing an £18m fee with Atletico Madrid - equalling the club's transfer record paid for Adama Traore.
Reigning champions Manchester City snapped up midfielder Ante Palaversa (£7m) from Hajduk Split, immediately loaning the 18-year-old back to the club until next January at the earliest.
Cardiff paid Reading £3m for former Aston Villa midfielder and right-back Leandro Bacuna, while Huddersfield signed Charlton forward Karlan Grant (£2m).
Manchester City made £33.3m from the sale of Brahim Diaz to Real Madrid (£22m) and Rabbi Matondo's transfer to Schalke (£11.3m), while Liverpool cashed in £19m from Solanke's move to the south coast.
Wolves received £16m from Stoke for former Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe (£12m) and Danny Bath (£4m) and an additional £500,000 from Sheffield Wednesday for full-back Dominic Iorfa.
Burnley cashed in £10m after negotiating a swap deal with the Potters - which saw Sam Vokes leave Turf Moor and Peter Crouch join the club.
Spurs collected £9m from selling Mousa Dembele to Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F, with Leicester receiving the same funds from Vicente Iborra's move to Villarreal and Brighton cashing in £2m for Oliver Norwood.
In addition to signing Solanke and Mepham on permanent deals, Bournemouth signed Nathaniel Clyne on loan from Liverpool until the end of the season.
Brighton made three permanent signings, recruiting youngsters Alexis Mac Allister, Tudor Baluta and Jan Mlakar - all being loaned back to clubs for the remainder of this campaign.

Cardiff also brought in three new faces, including Everton striker Oumar Niasse on loan to help their battle against relegation, while Crystal Palace signed Michy Batshuayi, Lucas Perri (both loans) and Bakary Sako returned to the club.
Chelsea, Fulham, Newcastle, West Ham and Wolves each made two signings, while Arsenal, Leicester, Watford, Burnley and Manchester City all recruited a single player.
In terms of departures, Wolves were joint busiest last month with 14 players leaving Molineux - 10 on loan, including sending new signing David Wang to Sporting Lisbon until June.
Brighton also sold two and loaned 12, while Chelsea (11 departures), Bournemouth (nine), Leicester, Liverpool, Newcastle and Waford each offloaded eight
Cardiff, Crystal Palace, Everton, Manchester United and Southampton all sanctioned six departures, followed by Huddersfield, Burnley and Spurs (each with five).
At the other end of the scale, Arsenal limited outgoings to two loan deals, with Emiliano Martinez signing for Reading and 18-year-old Emile Smith Rowe joining RB Leipzig, while four players left West Ham, Manchester City and Fulham.
