A late Maxime Biamou goal was just enough to give Coventry all three points as they overcame a plucky Bolton side in an entertaining 2-1 victory.
The first goal came after just two minutes when Sky Blues right back Fankaty Dabo found Amadou Bakayoko with a perfect cross, allowing the forward to nod home past Remi Matthews.
Despite Coventry creating more of the chances, Bolton never looked dead and buried.
Dennis Politic managed to get the away side level after 77 minutes when he volleyed in from close range following a low cross from the left by Chris O'Grady.
The match opened up with the scores level but Coventry just about managed to pinch it late on.
The lively Dabo was involved again as he put the ball into the box towards Jamie Allen who struggled to control. It eventually fell to Biamou who was able to poke home past Matthews.
Bolton may feel hard done by after fighting valiantly but ultimately Coventry's quality throughout was just too much for the League One basement club.
