In depth

Verdict

This maiden could well go to a newcomer and we will side with Fleeting Star to get the better of Damselfly and Honest Quality. Jeremy Noseda has got a fantastic strike-rate with his 2-year-olds this season and with the general form of the yard also good, this well-bred filly looks a good bet to make a winning racecourse debut. Damselfly hails from the Mark Johnston yard who are not yet firing on all cylinders with their 2-year-olds, although she does make plenty of appeal on breeding. Honest Quality looks to be the best of those with racecourse experience and she was squeezed for room on her debut whe she finished a close third behind Full Of Nature at Newmarket. She should be suited by this quicker ground and she is respected. However, Fleeting Star makes plenty of appeal and gets the vote.
