Ace of Hearts has an obvious chance on recent form and is well drawn but Chris Wall's gelding would prefer a faster surface and, with Zero Tolerance and Blue Spinnaker having been done few favours with the draw, the vote goes to Pedrillo. Sir Mark Prescott's gelding was made favourite for last season's Cambridgeshire on the strength of a facile success in the mud at Hamilton previously and, following a couple of outings that should have put him spot on, the son of Singspiel looks worth a punt. The Clive Cox-trained Thyolo has a decent draw but could do with being dropped a few pounds, while James Caird has flattered to deceive this term and would probably want a faster surface. John Akehurst's Audience has the plum draw in stall one but is inconsistent and of more interest may be Godolphin's Desert Destiny, who is stepping up in trip today. Pedrillo has plenty in his favour though and is taken to make the most of the conditions.
