Whirling would not have to be anything special to go in first time and gets the vote ahead of Royal Master, Eborarry and Optimum in the opener. Whirling is Martin Pipe's only runner at the Lincolnshire track this evening and is sure to have been put through her paces for her debut over hurdles. The daughter of Groom Dancer was only plating class on the Flat, but impressed the Nicolashayne maestro enough to go to 10,000gns for her after she had opened her account in selling company at Beverley in July. She can make the most of the weight that she receives from Royal Master, a miler on the level who shaped well when beaten in a photo on his Stratford bow. Eborarry popped in at odds of 25-1 when winning an apprentice event at Beverley in July, and may improve over timber, while ex-David Loder inmate Optimum probably needed the run when a well beaten third at Bangor earlier this month. The market will reveal if anything else is fancied, but Whirling is the pick.
