HARBINGER is making meteoric progress towards a crack at the St Leger next month and is fully expected to take this latest challenge in his stride. Alwaary and Father Time are sure to make this a good test, while Jukebox Jury and Mastery are likely to be available at attractive odds. Both are progressive enough to merit a speculative interest should the price collapse on the selection. Mastery won the Italian Derby in May and was subsequently placed in a Group One in France last month. Versatile regarding the ground, the mount of Frankie Dettori has nothing to lose in this company. He can play a strong supporting role today. Similar comments apply to Jukebox Jury, who has steadily improved this season and has scope for further progress now he is stepped up in trip again. Father Time and Alwaary are closely matched from their encounter in the Lingfield Derby Trial. The former has a Group 2 penalty to carry today, though. He faces a stiff test on these terms. Therefore, it might be down to Alwaary to provide the sternest challenge to the selection. The son of Dynaformer has proven stamina over the trip and, as he was far from disgraced against older horses at Ascot last month; he has to merit serious consideration. However, Harbinger has reportedly tightened-up nicely since his Goodwood success three weeks ago. And as Sir Michael Stoute's leading contender for the final classic of the season; Harbinger is very difficult to overlook today.
