ELUSIVE PIMPERNEL caught the eye with a sweeping success at Newmarket on debut and this strongly built colt is fancied to get one over on stablemates Poet's Voice and Vale Of York. Sea Lord and Party Doctor are others with solid claims and should help to make this an intruding clash. Party Doctor has made the frame in each of his four previous starts - the last two being of particular interest as they came in Listed races at Ascot. It would appear to be simply a matter of time before he finds a race and can be followed with interest whatever happens today. Sea Lord has shown a good attitude and brings battling qualities to the table. The form of his latest start is working out well and, as he can make the running, he is likely to be ideally suited to racing on the Knavesmire. Vale Of York appropriately already has a course and distance win to his name and has the potential to cause an upset. His maiden has already produced several winners and he shouldn't be discounted from any betting plans. The fact that Frankie Dettori prefers to ride Poet¿s Voice does complicate matters, though. Dettori's mount was no match for the selection when they met at Newmarket at the start of last month. But he did show he has ability by winning his next start, so has to be respected as the main choice for Godolphin. However, Elusive Pimpernel looked a real powerhouse when he got going on his introduction and, as this course places equal emphasis on stamina and speed, the John Dunlop-trained colt appeals as the most solid contender on show here.
