Roger Varian and Andrea Atzeni teamed up in this a year ago with a well-supported winner and the lightly-raced St Malo, a very easy winner of a Newcastle maiden, is likely to attract attention. Marmajuke Bay went up 6lb for winning at Kempton and hasn't quite been able to cope while Samtu has done his winning at Southwell. Island Flame has won three times at a lower level, a remark that also applies to Zain Arion, though the latter ran well in this grade at Haydock last time. Theydon Grey was having his first start for William Haggas at Yarmouth and can do better but a chance is taken with CHANCERY. David O'Meara's charge has a course a distance victory to his credit and, though he doesn't win often, is only had one run at this lower level since winning here in 2013 when finishing a close third on his reappearance at Doncaster last month.
