Verdict

Sir John Hawkwood stayed on strongly to score over 1m2f at Chester last week and the step up in trip has been long overdue. He should go well, despite the penalty, while Duke Of Clarence is another trying 1m4f for the first time after getting off the mark for the season at Windsor. Hanoverian Baron won this in 2010 but looks high enough in the weights at present whereas the handicapper has been more generous with EASY TERMS. Only 2lb higher than when in this successful 12 months ago, Edwin Tuer's prolific scorer made a promising reappearance over an inadequate trip at Pontefract and wasn't beaten far despite finishing eighth in a rough race at Thirsk subsequently. He can reverse that latest form with Oriental Fox and is better off at the weights with last year's third Crackentorp so a repeat could be on the cards. Rio's Rosanna and Martin Chuzzlewit are potentially well treated but the latter lacks a run this year.
