These early nurseries are always tricky but Silver Starlight should give supporters a good run after progressing enough to score at Ripon where she battled on gamely. Nine Below Zero looked a potential pattern-race winner when completing a double at Windsor and didn't get the best of runs in the Norfolk Stakes so should make a bold bid to get back to winning ways despite a big weight. Branscombe won a novices' event at Sandown but couldn't quite concede weight to Followthesteps on Tapeta at Wolverhampton but the vote goes to ALMANE, a smart winner at Beverley in April from a subsequent dual winner before an erratic display on Tapeta at Newcastle which wasn't a true indication of his ability.
