The Grey Berry has gone from strength to strength this year however a 6lb rise for his recent win may just be the straw that broke the camel's back and so we will instead plump for Broomielaw ahead of the interesting prospect of the returning Extreme Measures. A winner on his third start, Ed Dunlop's charge has improved with every run to date. Whilst this is the softest ground to date that he has encountered, his sire acted on it and there is enough in his pedigree to suggest that it won't prove to be a problem. A mark of 90 looks high enough but with more improvement to come he is fancied to oblige. Go Tech and Flying Clarets both need to be respected as course and distance winners but neither is in top form at present, so a more feasible danger could be Best Prospect. He won at Haydock on soft ground last month and if in the same frame of mind then he can go well again. Hurlingham and Yossi are two youngster's who threaten to deliver more than they actually do, whilst Bailieborough needs to bounce back from a woeful effort and should be watched in the market on his first start for new trainer Noel Wilson. Extreme Measures is the most interesting contender in the race. Off the track for 766 days, he was promising as a two-year-old but it must be expected that he will need this race. At a price Hassaad could go well although eh has been disappointing of late, however one who hasn't is Broomielaw and he gets the nomination.
