The Great Story pulled hard but was only headed close home on his first run for George Scott at Pontefract. Lariat stayed on strongly to beat a previous winner at Ayr on his second outing and looks capable of better but a similar comment applies to FELIX. Luca Cumani’s two-year-olds often improve for a run and that was the case with the Lope De Vega colt at Yarmouth – he should also have plenty more to offer. Sam Cooke has twice finished second on Polytrack but is having a first run on Turf. Tribal Commander has also been placed in both starts to date and Mardle is preferred to Dawn Blaze of Karl Burke’s two runners. Limelighter was just beaten over 7f at Brighton but that was only a Class 6 event.
