Verdict

Crooks Peak won a couple of bumpers around this time last year, including the one on this card 12 months ago, and was returning from a break when tailed off in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in March. He will be fancied to make a winning start over hurdles even though Colonel Custard has more recent winning form on the course. Summit Like Herbie made a winning start in a bumper at Exeter at the start of the year but disappointed in subsequent starts. ROUGE VIF is a brother to winning jumpers in France and was a comfortable winner of a Ludlow bumper in March. Only four, he could have a bright future.
