It will be interesting to see how Itlaaq performs on his reappearance but John Dunlop's colt needed his first run last term and he may be best watched on his return to action this season as well with a better bet looking to be MANNLICHEN, who gets the vote with The Fonz rated the pick of the remainder. The selection has run to a consistent level of form this term over shorter than the trip that he faces today but Mark Johnston's gelding has given every indication that the return to 1m4f would suit and he has solid claims off the same mark that he raced off last time. John Quinn's Blue Nymph should appreciate the return to the flat having been well beaten over hurdles at Cheltenham in the Triumph on his most recent start and has to be considered as does Tim Easterby's Deauville Flyer, although he would probably prefer a softer surface. James Fanshawe's Incendo made a pleasing return at Kempton last month but has to race off a career high mark and of more interest may be Alan King's Silk Hall, who returns to the flat on a fair mark. Neil King's Chalice Welcome and Jeremy Glover's Veloso have both been in good form on the Polytrack of late and have to be respected back on turf but of more interest may be The Fonz. Sir Michael Stoute's gelding disappointed on his return at Doncaster last month but the yard's runners are in better form now so he is likely to do better today and he looks the main danger to Mannlichen, who can resume winning ways now stepped back up in trip.
