The King Edward VII Stakes third Sixties Icon is likely to go off favourite for this on the strength of his Gordon Stakes victory over Jadalee but Jeremy Noseda's stable is badly out of form at present and Marcus Tregoning's colt is taken to reverse that form, with Red Rocks and Tusculum rated the best of the rest. The selection has improved since Goodwood and proved that he stays trip with a Listed race success back at the same venue last month. The drying ground will suit the son of Desert Prince, who is taken to give his handler a second classic success this term. Fire And Rain was ultimately disappointing in the Great Voltigeur on admittedly only his second start and may be able to reverse form with stablemate Puerto Rico on running that day although Tusculum looks the pick of Aidan O'Brien's trio. Sir Michael Stoute's Ask lost no caste in defeat in the Melrose here last month but looks short of the required standard and of more interest may be Great Voltigeur runner-up Red Rocks, although he looked a doubtful stayer in that contest. That is something that cannot be said of Jadalee though and he is taken to follow up his Goodwood success provided that the ground continues to dry out.
