A highly competitive handicap, where the better horses appear to be drawn high, can go to Namroud, who just edges the nod from True Night, Freeloder and Granston. The last named has been kept busy of late but does seem to be thriving on the action. He deserves a change of fortune after a series of near misses. Watch the market with him. Freeloder is also in great heart and comes into the race seeking his third win from his last five starts. However, he is creeping up the weights now and needs to produce a career best effort. True Night is hard to get right but has a habit of popping up in these big field events. Still, he also looks up against it on the terms of this race and, as he has never won off a mark this high before, he could be a risky proposition here. Hills Of Gold also has claims if he can get a prominent position from stall eighteen. However, preference goes to Namroud, who is still open to improvement at a mile. The ground is not an issue with him and bold bid is anticipated.
