Mullins Bay staked a solid claim for this race on his previous visit to the Knavesmire and looks the one to beat in a fantastic renewal for this valuable prize. Notable Guest also has solid course form to his name and is respected along with Crow Wood, Zero Tolerance and Thyolo. The last named does have a bit to find with the selection from their encounter in the Wolferton Stakes here last month. However, a more patent ride will see him in a better light and he has fair claims of making the frame here. Zero Tolerance brushed aside Crow Wood when winning here in May and will be a big threat if he can overcome his 8lb higher mark. He faces no easy task on these terms, though. Notable Guest represents a formidable team that have a great record at York. The four-year-old was a worthy winner here at the Royal meeting and will no doubt attract the interest of his faithful supporters. A 5lb penalty does not make it easy for him, though, and he needs to pull something more out of the bag to follow up today. Especially if Mullins Bay lives up to expectations. Aidan O'Brien will be keen to add this race to his already outstanding trophy haul and he looks to have an ideal candidate in Mullins Bay, who is 9lb well-in here and is expected to have the class to overcome the draw this afternoon.
