A good contest where KIRKLEES looks the one to be on. Frankie Dettori's mount was good enough to win the Group 2 York Stakes here last season and came back with a decent reappearance effort behind Vesuve at Ayr last time. He has won on good to soft, so hopefully this slower ground won't pose too many issues and he is selected over his optimum trip. Kings Gambit finished ahead of the selection at Ayr but, while he is a very respected yardstick, after several runs this time he is not open to as much improvement, though he does handle soft ground. The conditions are very much a concern for Jet Away, who has the form to get heavily involved if he does go on the ground.
