        Verdict

        Contraband was a highly progressive type last year having stormed to an impressive five-length success on his final start last term at Ascot (now 9lb higher). The Willie Haggas-trained gelding was having his first outing since when shaping well in the Ebor over this course and distance last month and can reverse form with Zibeline with the outing under his belt. Hambleden looks high enough in the weights while Mamcazma has also paid the price for his three Newmarket victories this summer so a bigger threat may come from Flaming Salsa. John Gosden's charge looks sure to appreciate this step up in trip having stayed on well over 12f last time and, being lightly raced, is open to further improvement.
