    In depth

    Verdict

An interesting contest with some unexposed and well-bred types in opposition and this race should produce plenty of future winners. So Dear had the benefit of a previous outing when runner-up in a similar event at Goodwood in which Aegean Magic finished sixth. It should be much closer between the pair this afternoon but preference is still for the former. Ian Balding's charge is related to a stack of previous winners and should not be long in losing her maiden certificate judged on her effort at the Sussex venue. The daughter of King Of Kings kept on willingly in the closing stages and looks more than capable of landing race of this nature before going on to better things. Beaucette showed little on her debut but hails from a top stable and is entitled to be sharper for the experience while Quiet Storm makes plenty of appeal on breeding and should be noted in the market.
