Van Bossed is better than his recent form figures might suggest, however a safer bet looks to be the consistent VIOLENT VELOCITY; punters should beware Countdown who is well-treated and loves soft ground and also Game Lad who is back down to his last winning mark. The selection handles any ground and he hasn't run a bad race this year. His latest third at Thirsk may suggest that he is not particularly well-treated on this sort of mark however the race wasn't really run to suit. Top-weight Turn Me On was a place ahead of him there so warrants respect, as do the consistent trio of Celtic Lynn, Oh So Saucy and Misplaced Fortune. With a more intriguing profile perhaps are another trio. Sadeek is racing off a mark of 76 following three poor runs and that means that he is no back on his last winning mark, whilst a similar profile is held by both Countdown and Game Lad, both who represent shrewd yards. Burning Incense returns to this trip and is now 10lb lower than his last winning mark, which admittedly was three years ago. Without Prejudice and Observatory Star both appear to be now in the grip of the handicapper and unless the cheek-pieces bring about improvement in Last Sovereign, the feeling is that this might go the way of Violent Velocity.
