tracked leaders, outpaced halfway, weakened final 2f
tracked leaders, ridden and effort over 1f out, ran on inside final furlong
slowly into stride, soon prominent, led over 2f out, headed over 1f out, rallied and ran on to lead last stride
tracked leaders, raced keenly, progress 2f out, driven to lead over 1f out, headed and no extra close home
chased leaders, outpaced over 2f out, kept on final furlong
A lot of guesswork involved here as they are all debutante's, but Personify, African Emperor and Tanzani are the three against the field, with the first named getting our vote. Saeed bin Suroor has a very good batch of two-year-old's and this son of Sunday Silence could be another potential stable star. He cost a whopping 250 thousand guineas as a yearling and is related to a couple of very good juvenile winners. an extra furlong or two may be needed in time but he could be sharp enough to win this evening's event. Tanzani is impeccably bred by Giants Causeway out a daughter of American champion Seattle Slew. Trainer Clive Brittain usually has a couple of smart juveniles in his camp so watch the market for clues. African Emperor is one of the cheapest purchases in the line-up but unlike most of these is bred for speed and could go well for his astute handler. As with any race of this nature the betting market will prove invaluable, but without that privilege we will plump for Personify.
