soon well outpaced in rear, soon tailed off
led, hard ridden over 1f out, hung right and headed inside final furlong, one pace under pressure
slowly into stride, behind, headway 2f out, shaken up and kept on final furlong but never near leaders
pulled hard behind leaders, ridden 2f out, weakened over 1f out
chased leaders on outer, hung wide into straight, led inside final furlong, edged left, ran on
soon chased leaders, ridden over 1f out, every chance inside final furlong, not quicken
Experience could win the day in the opener so a chance is taken that Forzeen can build on a good effort at Warwick last time and hold enough in reserve to repel the likes of Connotation and Russian Rocket, who appear to be the best of the rest on the limited evidence available at this stage. Lady Algarhoud hails from a yard that have done well with their juveniles this season and, as a half-sister to the fairly useful High Reach, is one to monitor for signs of interest on her debut. However, she may find a couple of these have her measure in terms of knowledge of what is required today and she may be best watched for the time being. In contrast to Forzeen, who posted a career best effort when making a well regarded type from the David Evans stable pull out all the stops on his latest outing. The Jamie Osborne-trained colt has shown a good enough level of improvement in each of his three previous outings to suggest that a race of this nature is his for the taking. So, with the added plus of Frankie Dettori doing the steering, he looks to have a very good chance of ridding himself of the maiden tag in this company. Connotation made a pleasing debut and should be capable of playing a leading role if putting in a similar performance. However, as is the case with Russian Rocket, the horses she finished in front of last time may not have been up to much, so she in turn, is also opposed with Forzeen this afternoon.
