In depth
Verdict
A number of these have given their supporters a torrid time of things of late, so, with this in mind, it might be worth chancing a small stakes investment with Invader, who has taken time to come to himself this season but has a number of previous good efforts at this course to boost his claims today. Certain Justice, Flying Treaty and Mallard are others to put on the shortlist as they all have form on artificial surfaces that gives them claims at this level. The same has to be said of Brazilian Terrace, who arrives here in good form and gets on very well with Hayley Turner, who will again be in the plate today. However, as is likely to be the case with Tre Colline, the on-course bookmakers are unlikely to take any chances with her and there could be a little more value to be squeezed out of the market elsewhere. Which brings us back to Invader, who has dropped to a very handy mark for, what is effectively, a drop in grade for him. Clive Brittain's string are slowly turning the corner after a slow start to the season and Invader can do his bit to boost the coffers if he is sent off at an each-way price. Certain Justice is another well worth having a second look at, as he is another that takes on easier company today. Richard Quinn is an interesting jockey booking for the top weight and they should make a bold bid if in the gelding is in the mood today. That is the key to most of these in truth though, so we take the view that Invader can go close if he makes the most of a mark that is 4lb lower than he was on the last he was victorious.
