    Verdict

Clive Brittain's Jebel Tara may well improve for racing on a softer surface but Ripon winner Rubirosa sets a fair standard and gets the vote to follow up at the main expense of Spitfire. The selection was a comfortable winner of that Ripon contest, staying on well at the end of the six furlongs and has solid claims of following up. The Michael Jarvis-trained Enigma Code has to be respected on his debut but is bred to want a faster surface so may be best watched, while other newcomers Mr Fantozzi and Wooden King make limited appeal. Spitfire proved that he handles cut in the ground when successful at Warwick earlier this month and has to be respected but Rubirosa holds solid claims and he gets the vote.
