Rowan Lodge can gain another course win, with Credential, Desert Hawk and Desert Island Miss others for the short-list. Rowan Lodge has been consistent in defeat, and has been given a small break since chasing home Surwaki in a Warwick claimer in July. Jockeyship counts for a lot in these events, and with the able Harry Poulton on board, Jim Boyle's five-year-old will get every assistance in the saddle. Credential stayed on well at Beverley, and with 'Shifty' Geran up, also goes on the short-list, while Desert Hawk can call on the services of Patrick Hills. A past course-and-distance winner, he caught the eye when third at Wolverhampton, and of the remainder, Desert Island Miss is worth a mention after a fair effort from the front at Kempton two months ago. His stable is not in form at present though, and we pass him over in favour of Rowan Lodge.
