There was money around at chunky odds for Wahaaj on debut at Nottingham and that confidence in Patrick Owens’ colt was not misplaced. That said, it won’t be easy to shoulder weight all around and CAERNARFON could be worth a speculative interest against him. Mick Channon’s filly is of a likeable enough pedigree and had been due to participate in a stronger event at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago. Timewave wasn’t particularly expensive at the sales given he is a son of Sea The Stars and must be respected. Speedwell was an early foal and she hails from a yard that are doing particularly well with their juveniles at present.
