Brilliant Light has competed at Ascot and in the John Smith’s Cup at York since winning at Ripon and finished ahead of Just Fine on both occasions. Legend Of Dubai won easily at Newmarket earlier but failed to settle in the Royal Hunt Cup last time while last year’s runner-up Caradoc was beaten by MOKTASAAB over track and trip back in April. The latter has had excuses in both subsequent outings and Bill Knight’s charge gets another chance back here. Soto Sizzler represents last year’s winning yard but is 7lb higher than when scoring at Epsom while West End Charmer placed in Listed company here in May. Recent winners Lord Protector and Karibana are upped in class.
