      Verdict

Sacred was making her seasonal debut when beaten a length in the Platinum Jubilee over 6f at Ascot. She won last year’s Hungerford Stakes over today’s trip at Newbury and has leading claims but LUSAIL (NAP) gets another chance. Beaten only a head in the St James’s Palace, the Hannon colt placed in a Group 1 over 7f at Deauville last time and this return to faster ground will suit. The latter is preferred to stablemate Gubbass but Pogo should go well having landed a double in Group 3 company this year and beating last year’s winner Kinross, Laneqash, Ever Given and Happy Power in the process. Sandrine drops down in trip after a good effort in the Falmouth at Newmarket.
