      Verdict

      This looks interesting and STARFIGHTER is taken to defy topweight for an in-form yard after an excellent second to a potentially very useful sort in Match Maker in a better contest at Newbury this month. He came home powerfully on that occasion and the similarly long Yarmouth straight should enable P J McDonald to gradually wind him up. Monsieur Lambrays and Fragrant Dawn are possibly in the grip of the handicapper but Starczewski is going the right way and represents a live danger. Runner-up the last thrice, he went down by the minimum margin at Haydock this month and is expected to receive a typical Spencer hold-up ride here.
