Mineral Star is given the narrow vote in an open looking claimer, Sawwaah and Boundless Prospect look to be the main dangers. Mark Tompkins continues to have his string in good heart and this consistent performer does look to be well suited by the race conditions. He is rated 72 and has been racing up to that mark His two main rivals are rated 78 and are giving him ten pounds which puts him four pounds clear of both. If only it was as simple as that. Sawwaah was in the form of his life during the summer, rattling off a quickfire hat-trick. If he is in the same form following a break he will be hard to beat. Meanwhile Boundless Prospect finished fifth in a class two handicap last time out and takes a big drop in grade, so is another big threat. Split Briefs should be best of the younger brigade, but in a very difficult contest we will nominate Mineral Star as the more likely winner.
