A chance is taken with HOLAMO, who gets the nomination ahead of In Her Shoes and Mayaalah. The last named appeals as the main contender from the John Gosden yard (also sends out Take The Hint) and is likely to be a popular selection in the betting. She is from the same family as Lahan, a Classic winner for Gosden several years ago, so the expectations for her to break her duck can understandably be high. She makes her turf debut at a very realistic level and has to merit serious consideration if the racecourse vibes are right. In Her Shoes will be suited by the step up in distance and it would not be surprising to see her post a more encouraging effort today. She does need to improve for the extra distance, though. Homalo has no such doubts about the trip, however, and is taken to build on her most promising display at Haydock last month. An expensive purchase at the Tattersalls sales last year, Homalo has a rock-solid profile and can give Marco Botti plenty of food for thought as he maps out future plans for this daughter of Montjeu.
