Verdict

One of best apprentice races so far this season. Verona Star has topweight and is fascinating, having recently returned to action after a break of 615 days to post an excellent Wolverhampton second over this trip. He remains hard to evaluate after just two starts, but needs keeping on the right side tackling grass for the first time. DESERT FALCON, 2-2 this term on the forecast ground, displayed sufficient speed last time to score over 6f, having opened his account previously over today's trip. Sir Mark Prescott's gelding looks on the upgrade and can complete the hat-trick. Dark Kestrel is a rare runner in such races for John and Thady Gosden and will receive maximum assistance from the saddle, whilst Mobashr and Hobson Point are noted from opposite ends of the handicap.
