Disco Queen may follow up, with Emergency Services, Grimes Glory and Group Force just a few of many in with a shout in a hard one to call. With so many thus far disappointing youngsters dropped to this grade, it is with no great confidence that Disco Queen is selected. The one thing in her favour is that she does at least have recent winning form, Pat Haslam's filly having come good at Leicester nine days ago thanks to a drop down to this level. That was over seven furlongs, and on breeding she should prove even more effective over a mile, so with Kevin Darley once again in the saddle she should make her presence felt. Emergency Services has been confined to low-grade events so far, and has shown a modicum of ability, so has place claims at least on his first try over a mile, while Grimes Glory must surely be involved, as he can actually meet the selection on 8lb better terms than when third at Leicester. He will have his supporters, as will Group Force who at first glance has a mountain to climb to master Disco Queen after trailing in well beaten behind her last time. However, he was third in a claimer here the time before, so could easily bounce back. Needless to say, the market should be very closely watched, but we are prepared to side with Disco Queen again.
