Dubai Magic is taken to see off some progressive rivals in the nursery, with Big Player, The Illies and Fongs Gazette just a few dangers. Dubai Magic has in the main been most consistent, and gained due reward when scoring gamely at Salisbury in June. Outclassed in the TNT July Stakes at Newmarket next time, he then failed by a neck to hump topweight to victory on his nursery bow here in July, and fresh from a break with a furlong more to travel, he is taken to make amends. It is difficult to know just how good Big Player is, but he was impressive on his Folkestone introduction and hails from a stable that has has sent out the likes of Enticing and Conquest this term, so has to be regarded as a danger. Likewise The Illies who showed big improvement when landing a competitive Bath nursery 10 days ago, for which he carries a 6lb penalty. Fongs Gazette is capable of more than he has shown so far, and will appreciate the extra furlong, while it would be folly to dismiss any of the others as well. A most open contest can go to Dubai Magic.
