In an interesting maiden we will side with Aviemore ahead of Albahja, Mr Vegas, Obezyana and Takrit. Aviemore showed plenty of promise on his racecourse debut and was noted staying on at the finish. This longer trip should suit and with his stable in pretty good form, he looks set to go well in a run-of-the-mill maiden, although you have to bear in mind that Albahja finished a short head in front of him in that race, so he too has to be seriously considered. Dreadnought also showed promise on his debut, although that was on the all-weather and he will need to improve on that to play a leading part, which is, of course, entirely possible. Mr Vegas was third behind Shannon Springs at Newmarket on his latest start, and that's an effort that grants him a place on the shortlist too. Obezyana's form is beginning to receive boosts, and he should be sharper for his seasonal return, while Subtle Affair's best run to date came here last November, but we prefer others today. From the Clive Brittain camp, Takrit, a son of Giant's Causeway has also to be granted respect, but Zaville looks to be the Jarvis second-string. In summary, then, for the winner we look to Aviemore.
