There is not too much to go on here with River Gleam being selected ahead of Sergeant Sharpe and Halsion Challenge. River Gleam showed debut promise at Kempton behind the subsequent Group-placed Reel Gift and can go well upped in trip today. Mark Tompkins' Sergeant Sharpe is the most expensive of these at 14,000 guineas and gets a good mention, while Jamie Osborne's Cheque has plenty of winners in his blood but was only cheaply acquired. City Hustler has something to like on breeding, while John Best's 8,000 guineas purchase, Halsion Challenge, has to be given some thought. Imperial Decree showed a modicum of promise on his debut, and Madam Superior might show improvement stepped up in trip today. Peter Chapple-Hyam's runners have to be given all due respect, although his Miss Olivia only cost 5,000 euros, and Tactical Move showed some promise on his Catterick debut and could be open to some improvement. For the selection, though, we will stick with River Gleam.
