Richard Hannon looks to hold a strong hand in this claimer and Corky is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of stablemate Tregarron and Everest. The last mentioned was in good form a couple of months ago when landing back-to-back handicaps at Newmarket but has failed to sparkle since then and faces no easy task giving weight away all round here. Keshya should relish the conditions but is not particularly well treated, while Welsh Wind is having his first race on turf since May last year and has not been seen since March so may need the run. Tregarron has claims on the pick of his form but that is generally on faster ground and a better bet looks to be Corky. Richard Hannon's gelding is well treated at the weights, handles plenty of cut in the ground and looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to resume winning ways.
