In depth

Verdict

Mey Clouds can build on last weekend's effort at Market Rasen and gets the nod over Arctic Ghost and Granite Man. There could be a bit more to come from Ad Murum but he can be sketchy at his obstacles and is not one to trust implicitly. Granite Man is lightly weighted and has the capability to go close if he is in the right frame of mind. He is well treated in comparison to his hurdles rating and, as a doughty stayer; the mount of Richard Johnson has to be feared as a live danger. However, Mey Clouds seems to be on a roll just now and, as he is obviously enjoying himself at his new yard; it would be no surprise to see the Even Williams-trained gelding deliver the goods this afternoon. Any softening of the ground would only bolster his claims.
