In depth

Verdict

Palua, Original Fly and Ketty Star are the ones to look at here, with top weight Palua having the class to concede the weight. Original Fly has been the epitome of consistency but despite hitting the frame with great regularity, he would appear to prefer more testing ground than he has here and is taken on. Kety Star has been out of form recently but has ability, as indicated by a good second at Huntingdon. He has been slipping down the handicap and can run well, although he would prefer a faster surface. Palua gave Pearl King a fright on Boxing Day and has been lightly campaigned since. He is a classy type, and in this small field the weight concession may be more feasible with the possibility of only a steady pace, which will suit Palua, who is taken to resume winning ways.
