In depth

Verdict

In a field big on quantity and low on quality, Nyrche stands out and should give weight and a beating to First Boy, with Make Haste Slowly one to watch in the market. Nyrche absolutely bolted up at Southwell on only his second start in this country and a similar effort here will surely see him home and hosed. That victory came as no surprise given his earlier second at Sandown, and with more to come, Alan King's charge has the class to defy a penalty. First Boy was successful twice on the Flat in Germany but looks nothing special judged on two runs over hurdles so far, while Make Haste Slowly was pulled up on his last run three months ago and does not make appeal for win purposes. Of the rest, Oso Magic is worth bearing in mind if the market speaks in favour of Sue Smith's runner who looks the best of her pair, but really it will be a shock if Nyrche gets turned over and he rates a confident selection.
