Quite a competitive little contest, despite the lack of runners and this can go to the only four-year-old in the field, Silver Buzzard. Jonjo O'Neill's Silver Hawk gelding looked a hurdler to follow when a close-up fourth to the useful Beyond Control in a valuable contest at Sandown, on ground which had become quite testing. While he handles soft ground he is just as at home on a sound surface and off just a 1lb higher mark than at Sandown, he is taken to score. Ambry comes into this in good form having handed out a comprehensive beating to Sadler's Secret, but that effort wasn't lost on the Handicapper, who has seen fit to raise him 9lbs. Dantie Boy isn't straightforward and it isn't hard to look beyond him, while this looks too competitive for Red Canyon. Modem absolutely dotted up at Southwell and although raised 10lbs for that, he could well still be competitive off his new mark. However, Silver Buzzard is open to more improvement than his rivals and is the choice to strike a blow for the younger generation.
