It speaks volumes for the quality of the contest when the exposed Gilded Cove, rated just 59, looks like heading the market, but there may be a bit of value in opposing him with another long standing maiden in the shape of Superapparos, who could well take a bit of pegging back around here. Selecting a maiden nine-year-old, a veteran of 60 races, it may appear that the men in white coats will be looking for me, but he is a relatively straight forward ride, who is best when employing his trail blazing tactics and with Phillip Makin, who knows him so well, taking 7lbs off his back, he could finally get his head in front. Gilded Cove will make sure the old timer doesn't have things too easy, but Reg Hollingshead's youngster may find things happening a bit to quickly for his liking. Third place may go to Tree Roofer, who has plenty of form around here and has his first outing for Champion All-Weather trainer Nick Littmoden.
