In depth

Verdict

The shortlisted three are Poseidon, Regal Riband and Animated with the selection being Poseidon. Poseidon showed promise when third over course and distance on his debut and this well-bred colt looks to hold solid claims today. Regal Riband showed promise on his debut over the same course and distance and is another to seriously consider. Of the others, Animated has shown enough promise to be considered at this level. It would be hard to build confidently-compelling case for the others, but the market might tell us a different story; once again, the selection is Poseidon.
