In depth
Verdict
Wood Fern is the pick over Revolve, Pharaoh Prince and Piquet. Wood Fern was sent off as favourite at Lingfield nine days ago, but was pipped on the post by Revolve whom he can now meet on 6lb better terms. Unlucky to be beaten here the time before as well, Mark Brisbourne's charge deserves compensation and is taken to do the business here. Although worse off at the weights, Revolve can still make his presence felt, without quite being good enough, and a bigger danger could well turn out to be Piquet who ran very well over the course-and-distance last time, although the fact that she has not won for two years does not inspire a great deal of confidence. Pharaoh Prince has an absence to overcome, while the rest are hard to fancy, and we return to Wood Fern as the answer.
