Shake On It is one of four course and distance winners in the field for this seller but he was very disappointing in a Lingfield claimer last time and looks best left out of calculations here in a race taken to go to STRAIGHT FACE, who gets the vote with Geezers Colours rated the best of the rest. The selection represents the in-form yard of David Evans and comes into this in good heart himself having won well in a handicap here over seven furlongs last month and, most recently, finding just Lord Fidelio too good in a Kempton claimer. He may be better over seven furlongs but has run well over a mile in the past and looks worth chancing over it in this company. Kevin Morgan's Sotik Star won well when landing a handicap here in August but has struggled in two recent starts and may do so again even in this grade. Alan McCabe's Well of Echoes is surely better than he showed here last time over six furlongs but he has yet to prove that he stays this far and a bigger threat is likely to come from Geezers Colours, who has run to a consistent level of form in recent starts. He has to be considered but marginal preference is for Straight Face, who can resume winning ways.
