Whittinghamvillage makes most appeal here ahead of Dress Pearl, City General, Fayr Firenze and Melaina. The selection has earned the highest official rating of these runners and, although unproven on the surface, has every right to go well. Trainer Alan Berry also runs Dress Pearl, and she has claims based on her best turf efforts. Fayr Firenze has run respectably enough in maiden here to be considered, particularly as he is dropped to selling company for the first time. He finished ahead of Melaina here on November 14 but that filly, now five pounds better off for less than a couple of lengths if you include her rider¿s claim, could go well in first-time blinkers. City General actually won a Yarmouth seller over today¿s trip and, with a very apprentice on board, can give the selection most to do. Not a strong race but it¿s interesting for all that and our interest is taken mostly by Whittinghamvillage.
