Verdict

This is a low grade but competitive handicap in which THE CITY KID's course form is enough to sway us just in favour of that one ahead of Poppy's Rose while Bertie Southstreet looks and each-way play. Four of the pick's six career victories have come at this venue with the latest coming off this mark. He's been off the boil a bit since but there have been signs of life in his last two runs so it is possible for him to get back to winning ways. Poppy's Rose is yet to win on the polytrack but her two near misses this summer when two pounds worse off show she does handle it and her mark is also a plus. Bertie Southstreet has been running with some success in sellers recently but now back in the handicap ranks he should go well enough to get some minor prizes having only found an inform runner too good off five pounds higher in December at this level. Dickie Le Davoir is really well treated based on his turf mark but he¿s no where near as good on the polytrack so the slighter safer option might be The City Kid.
