Verdict

BAWAARDI is in good form and gets the nod in the opener, while the other quartet all have some sort of claim. The Richard Fahey-trained selection is now 2lbs higher then when just held over a mile at Kempton on Wednesday, when he ran on well before hitting the wall only yards before the line. His previous effort here proves his liking for this surface and marginally longer trip, and he can today claim the handicap success that his efforts deserve. Stablemate Bolodenka has yet to win in four attempts on artificial surfaces, though he has run well enough in defeat here. This trip looks to be his optimum and he is on a very competitive mark, so could go close. Longoria has emerged in front on three of her last five starts, but after an easy five length win here in April 2008, something was clearly amiss in Listed company at Newbury when she was last seen out a month later. Clearly these conditions will suit, as will the trip, though she has fitness to prove after such a lengthy lay-off. Justcallmehandsome has been put up 7lbs for an eased-down win over course and distance earlier in the month, but with the visor retained he has to be a major player, while Quick Release has been held by useful yardstick Mr Willis on his last two outings and a 1lb drop won't harm his chances. Preference, however, is for Bawaardi.
