In a poor Maiden, the relatively exposed Aussie Cricket is the selection ahead of Summer Of Love, New Beginning and Into Action. The selection has run with credit over the course and distance twice already his season and a reproduction of that form would surely be enough to see off the competition today. Although she has a tendency to pull hard early in her races, the in-form Eddie Ahern should be able to notch up another all-weather winner. Summer Of Love was last seen finishing well after not getting the clearest of runs and could represent the main danger to the selection if continuing to improve. Trainer Paul Cole has a fair record at the Midlands track and both of his runners could improve markedly on their previous performances. Into Action disappointed on his previous effort at the track, although he did stumble on the bend and never recovered from that, so could well post an improved effort today. Robert Winston returns for a ride on New Beginning, a colt who was optimistically put in a Listed race last time out at Pontefract after only showing moderate form in previous maidens. He is obviously thought to be better than this class but as he is yet to show it, he is passed over in favour of the selection who can finally break her duck at the sixth attempt.
